The First International Workshop on Preventive Medicine took place on 12.9.2019

On September 12, 2019, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the first International Workshop on Regenerative Medicine was held: “Introducing Cell-Based Therapies and Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapies (PTT): Clinical Medicine” : Introduction to cell-based and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies: clinical-translational approach).
On the theoretical part of the workshop lecturers – world-renowned experts (Prof. Dr. Lucia Pascucci, Prof. Dr. Mary Murphy, Prof. Dr. Frank Barry and Ana Ivanovska) were invited who shared their theoretical and practical knowledge on the latest advances in the field of regenerative medicine, as well as the application and role of stem cells in veterinary medicine.
During the practical part an introductory lecture was delivered by prof. Dr. Stefano Grolli, on the role and application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in daily practice. The practical (laboratory) part consisted of the preparation of PRP, where the participants divided into two groups independently had the opportunity to prepare the plasma and to note the differences between the gel and the plasma from the PRP.
