Teaching-Scientific Council

The Teaching and Scientific Council of the faculty is a professional body. Members of the Teaching-Scientific Council are: full and associate professors, assistant professors and representatives elected by the students.
The Teaching-Scientific Council adoptes regulations on internal organization and work of the faculty, it adopts the program of research, conduct the procedure and perform academic-scientific degrees, associate degrees, title of assistant – PhD student, and selects scientific and headline titles.
The Teaching-Scientific Council of the faculty also:

  • offers a number of students who will enroll in first, second and third cycle of studies;
  • it proposes to the Dean’s office measures for the creation and development of teaching and scientific offspring and to work with particularly successful and talented students;
  • it proposes measures to the faculty management board and decide on the promotion of the teaching, research and applied or application work and the computer network;
  • elect and dismiss the Secretary of the Faculty;
  • elects the members of the committee for self-adopt guidelines for evaluation of the faculty;
  • decides on the library, the library-information system and realization of library information and the documentation activity, in accordance with the Statute of the University;
  • decides to organize meetings, symposia, conferences, etc;
  • decides on the achievement of international cooperation in accordance with the Law and the University Statute;
  • elects members for the peer review committees;
  • decides on the internal organizational units of the Faculty;
  • adopts a plan for the implementation of teaching;
  • decides on accepting the report on the work of the Dean;
  • give consent for performing activities on other units of the University;
  • Propose activities on other units of the University;
  • elects their representatives in the board of cooperation and trust with the public;
  • proposes the introduction of participation of study costs;
  • decideс on the need for а teacher and announces a competition;
  • considers initiative for early termination of the promotion in title;
  • establish a committee to draft a paper for early termination of choosing the title;
  • elect members of the disciplinary committee for responsibility of students;
  • gives a replacement of teachers and associates who use paid or unpaid leave;
  • invites visiting professors to carry higher education and scientific research for some time;
  • adopt a decision on starting the procedure for selection of a new Dean;
  • formed Election Commission for conducting the election of a new Dean;
  • Adopt a program for professional development and various forms of informal learning;
  • conduct the procedure for selection of full professors;
  • adopts rules for the study;
  • concludes cooperation agreements with foreign universities under the Law on Higher Education;
  • decides on agreements for the double degree (double degree) or a joint study program (joint degree) under the Law on Higher Education;
  • organize various forms of informal learning according to the Law on Higher Education;
  • adopts a program for including visiting professors from abroad in accordance with the Law on Higher Education;
  • performs other duties prescribed by the law, the Statute of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius “in Skopje, these Rules and other acts of the University and the faculty.
