Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Skopje at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje from 2021 will enroll students in one-year specialist professional studies in “Food Safety and Quality” (2 semesters – 60 ECTS). The study program is intended for students from all biomedical and biotechnical professions in order to professionally upgrade knowledge, skills and competencies in food production and quality control, food import control, ways of processing, packaging, distribution and retail of food.
The students will be practically trained in accredited laboratories for the methods for food safety and quality analysis in accordance with the standards of ISO 17 025 in the Food Institute at FVMS which is an institution with 175 accredited methods for analysis of food quality and safety and is the leading and unique institution in the country of that scope.
After gaining modern and specialized knowledge, skills and competencies, the students acquire a university degree and the professional title of “Specialist of Food Safety and Quality “.
The studies enable enrollment of students who have completed undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and related faculties in the fields of biotechnical and biomedical sciences such as the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Technology, Medical Faculty, Faculty of Pharmacy and other related faculties, and who are interested in training and professional work in the field of food safety and quality.
