Delegation from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine-Skopje at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius ”in Skopje, led by the Dean prof. Dr. Lazo Pendovski, Vice Deans prof. Dr. Ksenija Ilievska and prof. Dr. Iskra Cvetkovic and the Head of the Food Institute prof. Dr. Dean Jankuloski, visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the visit, the deans of the two Faculties, prof. Dr. Lazo Pendovski (FVM-Skopje) and prof. Dr. Muhamed Smajlovikj (VF-Sarajevo) signed two bilateral agreements for the promotion of educational, scientific and applied activities of the two institutions with special emphasis on laboratory services, which deepens, strengthens and confirms the cooperation of the two institutions in the field of veterinary medicine.
The agreements cover the mobility of professors, associates and students and enable the exchange of experts in connection with the preparation and implementation of evaluation processes conducted in accordance with the standards of EAEVE (European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education).
The agreements provide for conducting specialist studies, joint creation, development and promotion of innovative educational programs, implementation of permanent courses, development of joint scientific research programs and projects of common interest in the field of veterinary medicine, and in that direction the use of European Union programs.
It is especially noteworthy that the agreements cover analytical laboratory services related to testing of analytes from the scope of accreditation for ISO 17025, testing the presence of certain substances in animals and products of animal origin, the presence of residues and contaminants in food, testing of animal diseases in accordance with national veterinary legislation and EU legislation.
The signing of the two agreements is a confirmation of the strategic cooperation that exists between the Faculties in the past years, which is gaining momentum and deepens in the areas of higher education, thus establishing new directions in order to strengthen and increase the capacity of both Faculties.
