Within the scope of the bilateral collaboration with the Specialized Veterinary Laboratory (SVL) from Podgorica, Montenegro, the Faculty of veterinary medicine Skopje organized 3-day (3 to 5 March) introductory training on ISO 17025 requirements for accreditation of molecular methods. The training was attended by two participants from the SVL Montenegro (1 senior laboratory staff and 1 laboratory technician).
The training took place at the Laboratory for molecular diagnostics of the FMVS under supervision of Prof. Igor Djadjovski and Prof. Kiril Krstevski, and covered both, technical and practical aspects necessary for accrediting PCR methods. These included requirements on staff competencies, equipment calibration and maintenance, method validation and verification, continuous monitoring of the performances of implemented methods, good laboratory practice and routinely used PCR-process controls. In addition to the training, new areas for potential collaboration have been discussed with the colleagues from SVL.
