BIOLOGY AND PATHOLOGY OF BEES
1. DEFINITION OF SUBJECT: Biology and pathology of bees

This scientific discipline has a goal to introduces students with the fundamentals of biology and breeding of Apis melliffera mellliffera, diseases, prevention, diagnosis and treatment respectively eradication of diseases.

2. SUBJECT IN VETERINARY EDUCATION

Biology and pathology of bees belongs in clinical subjects.

3. AIM OF THE SUBJECT

Main task of the subject is to introduce the students with the importance of apiculture (beekeeping) to its direct (bee products, honey, pollen, bee venom, royal jelly, propolis and wax) and the indirect benefit, pollination of entomofilic plants. Furthermore, anatomy and morphology of the species, reproduction, equipment and types of contemporary housing, technology of beekeeping, migration beekeeping. Objective of subject is to study the viral, bacterial, parasitic diseases, diseases caused by fungus, poisoning and vermin. During the practical work on the apiary, the student should be introduced with practical skills in apiculture and in laboratory students will gain their basic experiences on diagnostic of diseases.

4. PERFORM TEACHING

Teaching is performed in VIII semester, with total of 45 hours, of which 15 hours theory and 30 hours practical training.

5. METHODOLOGY OF THE SUBJECT

Theory: Interactive (lectures in a large group discussion and engagement of students).
Practical teaching: is performed in the Laboratory of biology and pathology of bees in smaller groups where students independently can perform various skills.
Seminar: preparation of seminar paper presentation and discussion about seminar paper.

BIOLOGY AND PATHOLOGY OF FISH
1.DEFINITION OF SUBJECT: Biology and pathology of fish.

As a scientific discipline, Biology and pathology of fish is an important theme in veterinary medicine that deals with studying biology of the fish, breeding, technology, nutrition, diseases and their therapy.

2. SUBJECT IN VETERINARY EDUCATION

Biology and diseases of fish is obligatory subject in undergraduate studies.

3. AIM OF THE SUBJECT

Aim of Biology and disease in fish is introduction to the fundamentals of aquaculture and fishery. Students learn about fish species, their anatomy and morphology, types of aquaculture, nutrition, breeding, diseases of fish, poisoning and diseases of nonspecific etiology. Practical work enables the students to become familiar with the principles and method of breeding, diagnostics and treatment of diseases.

4. PERFORM TEACHING

Teaching is performed in VII semester, with total of 60 hours, of which 30 hours theory and 30 hours practical training.

5. METHODOLOGY OF THE SUBJECT

Theory: Interactive (lectures in a large group discussion and engagement of students).
Practical teaching: is performed outside, on the field and in laboratory.
Seminar: preparation of seminar paper presentation and discussion about seminar paper.

BILOGY AND PATHOLOGY OF WILD ANIMALS
1. DEFINITION OF SUBJECT: Biology and diseases of wild animals

As a scientific discipline, Biology and diseases of wild animals is an important theme in veterinary medicine that deals with the studying of the biology of wild animals with special review on hunting game, breeding, technology, diseases and their therapy.

2. SUBJECT IN VETERINARY EDUCATION

Biology and diseases of wild animals is obligatory subject in undergraduate studies.

3. AIM OF THE SUBJECT

The aim of the subject is introduction with the basic knowledge of hunting. Students learn about game (wild animals) species, their anatomical features, legislation, classification of the game, diseases, hunting kinology, hunting ballistics, trophies, incidents and injuries during hunting. Practical teaching enables students to learn about breeding principles and methods, reproduction, hunting, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Teaching is performed in IX semester, with total of 60 hours, of which 30 hours theory and 30 hours practical training.
