Independent Practice Outside FVMS

External practical training outside the faculty aims to enable students aims to enable students to gain their practical experience directly from veterinary practitioners and to become familiar with the daily work and responsibilities in veterinary practice. The work, during the practice, is mainly individual on different species of patients, carried out by the authorized veterinary practitioner. During the practice, students are obliged to show an appropriate level of knowledge and skills that they will use durinf that period. 

According the study program, durgin the pracitce student will take notes about his/hers activities and write them in the log book, that is obligate and it should be signed by the responsible practitioner. External practical training is carried out in the 12th semester and has total of 6 ECTS credits and is required for diploma preparation ad gradutation. 

In order to carry out the external practical training, a reference letter and a confirmation signed by the responsible person are required, which is submitted to the coordinator for external practical training together with the completed log book. The coordinator certifies the successfully performed practice by checking the log book and a form filled out by the authorized veterinary practitioner.
