1. DEFINITION OF COURSE: Nutrition of farm animals

Course Nutrition of domestic animals is intended to introduce students with the general characteristic of plants and other foods used in feeding domestic animals and their nutritional value. Studying the needs of animals in food and biological active ingredients, their effect on processes in the maintenance of basic physiological functions and production, and the ability to settle the needs of that simple, rational and economic way.

2. SUBJECT IN VETERYNARY EDUCATION

The nutrition of farm animals is a preclinical course.

3. PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

Practical teaching on the subject of domestic food animals aims to introduce students with: sampling, determining chemical composition of food, introduction of foods and their nutritional value, making meal (ration) for various types and categories of animals.

Final objective of the course diet of domestic animals, with adequate nutrition to enable impact on qualitative and quantitative increase of safe food for man (meat, milk, eggs), and getting quality products for further industrial processing (wool, leather …).

4. PERFORM TEACHING

Classes are conducted in semester III and IV, with a total of 120 hours of which 60 are theoretical instruction and 60 hours practical training for students.

5. METHODOLOGY COURSE

Theory: interactive (the large group lectures with discussion and engagement of students).
Practical teaching: exercises and other forms of work in smaller groups.
Seminar work: literature and internet development seminar paper (essay / poster) presentation and discussion of college work.
